About Mohan Skiing & Boarding
Our Mission
At Mohan Skiing & Boarding, our mission is to develop skills, enhance possibilities, and create lasting memories through exceptional winter sports activities and educational programs.
About Us
Mohan Skiing & Boarding is proud to be one of the oldest and most respected ski and snowboard schools in the United States. We have been honored twice as one of the nation's Top 10 Ski Schools.
Founded in 1960 by Sally Strand, a science teacher in the Northshore School District, our program was born from her passion for skiing and her desire to share the mountain experience with students. What began as a local effort has grown into a wide-reaching program that now serves multiple school districts, private schools, parks and recreation departments, churches, and senior centers.
Our Legacy
Key figures in our program's development include John Mohan, who joined in 1966 and served as director from 1970 to 2000, and Rob Stimmel, who began in 1967 and led from 2000 until his passing in 2015. Their leadership helped shape Mohan into the vibrant, community-driven nonprofit it is today. Meet our current leadership team.
Community Commitment
As a non-profit organization, we are committed to making winter sports accessible to all. Each year, we provide thousands of dollars in scholarships to students. Learn more about our scholarship opportunities [here].
