Who is Mohan Skiing & Boarding?
Since originally formed in 1960, Mohan Skiing & Boarding is one of the oldest, most well respected ski & snowboard schools in the country.   In fact, we have been selected twice as one of the "Top 10" USA ski schools.  Mohan Skiing and Boarding is a division of Youth Sports Services and is now a non-profit school.
 
Our Friendly, Helpful, Energetic Staff Sets Us Apart  
The people we have on staff love their job, and it shows. We only seek out friendly, courteous and capable instructors and assistants.  
 
6 Week Group Lesson Programs
We offer lesson programs which meet once a week for 6 weeks.  Over the past 48 years we have offered 3, 5, 6, 7 and even 8 week programs.  We strongly believe that 6 is a great length.  It is long enough to effect real change and it is short enough that it does not take up your entire winter.

6 Week School Programs
We have many private and public schools that we offer lesson programs with busing.  If your child would like to get a ride up to Snoqualmie and take skiing or boarding lessons and their school participates in this great program then this is the program for them.

Pre-Scheduled Make-up Lesson Flexibility
We know your schedule can change quickly.  For those times when "life" gets between you and your lessons, we offer 3 lesson make-up sessions.  They are on the "7th" Saturday (10:30am & 2:00pm) and "7th" Sunday (10:30am) and they are open to all our group lesson students.

Location

We are located at Snoqualmie Summit Central right above the Magic Carpet and right below the Triple 60 ski lift.

LEADERSHIP

FOUNDER:  John Mohan
John is an internationally known instructor and wrote 'Teaching People Skiing and Boarding'.  John has taught for Ski Magazine and has was awarded the 'Golden Acorn & PSIA-NW Instructor of the Year'.  John was the PSIA-NW Certification V.P. for over 13 years and is currently a professor at Northwest University, and has also taught at the University of Washington, Bellevue Schools & the National Ski Academy.  John also helped develop SKIwee, a Ski Magazine program for children.

DIRECTOR:  Rob Stimmel
Rob joined our program in 1967, which makes him our longest running student.  For more than 10 years he was a Professional Snowsports Instructors of America (PSIA-NW) clinic instructor and freestyle examiner.  Rob helped develop the Ski Magazine SKIwee program for children and has written several manuals and created a video on teaching children.


Smart Style Advisor:  Dave Valenti
Dave has spent 15 years as a World Class Freestyle Competitor, accumulating numerous podiums including a World Professional Aerial Title, a National Championship Aerial Title and a Bronze Medal at the Freestyle World Championships.  He learned Smart Style through various ski schools and has been teaching full time for Mohan Skiing & Boarding since 2007.  Smart Style Club programs are now offered for more advanced skiers and boarders by Youth Sports Services / Mohan Skiing & Boarding.  Smart Style applies to all levels of skiing and boarding to help prevent injuries, maximize fun and long term participation in skiing and boarding, and is just a great way of thinking for all who enjoy snow sports.
