Instructor & Assistants

Registration is Now Open

If you handle advanced intermediate runs easily, are at least 13 years old (to be in our assistant classes) or at least 16 years old (to be an instructor), and are fun-loving, friendly, hardworking, energetic, and you enjoy helping others, you would make a great addition to our staff!

There are a multitude of benefits to working as an instructor or assistant at Mohan Skiing & Boarding. Learn valuable life skills, such as public speaking, working with a team, creating lesson plans, organizing a class, movement analysis, and helping others to succeed. Our training is conducted by our best instructors, so you can become a better skier or boarder! You will be eligible for a $70 staff season pass, pro deals on equipment, discounted Mohan bus transportation, as well as access to our Mohan Lodge (with overnight accommodations), staff celebrations, trips, and summer events. Build your resume and teach with us!

If you need hours to fulfill community service requirements, choose to volunteer in lieu of being paid and all of your training and teaching hours will apply. This could amount to 30-70 hours per year.

Mohan Skiing & Boarding is a Professional Snowsports Instructors of America (PSIA) school; our experienced staff will help train you to be an effective instructor. You will have plenty of practice time in a caring and supportive learning environment. As an instructor, you will learn what to teach, how to organize a class, how to manage students, and key analyzing skills. In being part of our assistant classes, you will learn indispensable life skills and begin to see how and why a skilled instructor knows what to teach and train directly with an instructor.

If you have a good attitude and a strong desire to be a good teacher, we would like to start training you to be an instructor or assistant with our program

Instructors pay $60 towards staff liability insurance. Assistants pay $60 to enroll in our Assistant Life Skills Class. The fee is NON-refundable once the training has begun.

Instructor/Assistant Expectations & Information

Mohan runs 6 or 7 week programs. Depending on the day that you instruct, you must be able to commit to the entire length of the program. See our operating calendar before registering so you know what to expect! Please do not register if you are not able to commit. We depend on all instructors to be available for this very short period of the winter! If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. All of our students and staff are depending on you for the scheduled length of the program.

We always have a demand for full-time staff. If you're able to commit full-time, you're more than welcome to live in our lodge over the course of the season rent free! Instructors planning on working Friday nights and weekends are eligible to stay the night in the lodge with a small donation towards utilities.

Attending Clinics is necessary for all staff. If you are a new instructor or assistant, you will have to attend all clinics. If you have been instructing with Mohan for more than a year, you will only have to attend some clinics. More information found on the registration page.
