Teaching Staff - Full & Part Time Positions Available

If you handle intermediate runs easily, are at least 13 years old (to be in our assistant classes) or at least 16 years old (to be an instructor), and are fun-loving, friendly, hardworking, energetic, and you enjoy helping others, you would make a great addition to our staff! 

Mohan Skiing & Boarding is a Professional Snowsports Instructors of America (PSIA) school; and our experienced staff will help train you to be an effective instructor.  You will have plenty of practice time in a caring and supportive learning environment.  As an instructor, you will learn what to teach, how to organize a class, how to manage students, and key analyzing skills.  In being part of our assistant classes, you will learn indispensable life skills and begin to see how and why a skilled instructor knows what to teach and train directly with an instructor.

Staff Selection Process

We look for staff members who will be the best possible teachers or assistants, at your skiing and/or boarding skills, and at your availability and how it fits with our needs.  We also look for caring people who enjoy helping others; if you have a good attitude and a strong desire to be a good teacher, we would like to start training you to be an instructor or assistant with our program.


Pre-Season Tryout Requirements

All new instructor & assistant applicants NEED to attend at least 1 Dry Land Clinic and 4 on snow Staff Hiring Clinics.  The list below is a necessary checklist for all new applicants:

  • Click on the Apply Now Link below and complete the form and make your Insurance payment or Life Skills Class payment. Instructors pay $60 towards staff liability insurance. Assistants pay $60 to enroll in our Assistant Life Skills Class (All pre-season fees are refundable if not hired). 
  • Sign up for our Discussion Board, where you will find Training Manual and Test.
  • Download and complete all Employment Forms.  Bring the Completed Forms and Test to your first Dryland Clinic.
  • Attend all 5 required training clinics..
  • Buy a discounted unlimited Season Pass from the ski area for $60 + tax (all instructors & assistants who are scheduled at least two lesson times per week are eligible). The pass is valid all season long.

Your Seasonal Commitment

You MUST work at LEAST two classes per week (yes, they may be on the same day) for the 6 weeks of lessons and 7th week make-up sessions (January 8th through March 9th).


Scheduled Lessons & Wages

We teach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Classes are 1.5 to 2 hours.

The times we are hiring for are:

Tuesday:  4:00pm
Wednesday:  2:30pm ,4:30pm
Friday:  11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 7:30pm
Saturday:  10:30am, 2:00pm
Sunday:  10:30am, 2:00pm

Instructors earn $9.00 to $20.00 per hour when teaching a class.  Pay is based on experience, certification and days worked (some days / times receive bonus pay).  Teaching assistants are NOT paid; only instructors are paid to teach.
